Much thought went into this seemingly simple and straightforward question, which we developed in collaboration with Amy Wrzesniewski, a professor of organizational behavior here at SOM and one of the lead faculty in the core leadership courses within our integrated curriculum.

The 2015-16 Yale SOM essay question

The Yale School of Management educates individuals who will have deep and lasting impact on the organizations they lead. Describe how you have positively influenced an organization as an employee, a member, or an outside constituent.

(500 words maximum)

そして同校の教育ミッションに対する入学審査部長の見解も述べられています。

Decision Release: March 25, 2016

Application Deadline: April 21, 2016
Decision Release: May 20, 2016
Enrollment Deadline: May 31, 2016

We are targeting July 1, 2015, to go live with our 2015-2016 online application. We will release our essay question for the upcoming year (spoiler alert: yes, we will have one essay again this year) roughly a month in advance of then so that Round 1 applicants can get a jump on their applications. 【No more TOEFL】: Yale

先だってのエッセイ課題に続いて、Yale関連の情報をシェア致します。

今月19日（水）のYale SOM Community Blog.にて以下のコメント（抜粋）が発表されました。
We are eliminating the TOEFL requirement.　(中略） We will not require any English language test to apply to Yale SOM.

翌20日（木）には、”Video Question”に関して、以下のコメント（抜粋）を発表しています。
Now we have technology that allows us to hear directly from every applicant. I believe that video questions will give you the opportunity to really tell us about yourself and give us a fuller sense of your candidacy.

より出願者のauthenticな部分の共有に加え、ノンバーバルの面も含む出願者のコミュニケーション能力を複数の（審査官の）眼を持って（総合的に）評価したいという意図の表れであると理解しています。

【Essay Questions for Fall 2014】: Yale

昨年の4題から今年は2題となっています。そして、これらの質問を使いますと、計750 wordsから成る「出願理由」や「MBAの取得理由」を含むGOAL型エッセイを書きあげることができます。例年、他校ではGOAL型のエッセイ課題を500 words以内で纏めるケースが多くみられます。これからエッセイの作成を進める際は、まず字数制限の多い課題から取り掛かり、そこから各スクールの字数制限に適応させるなど、個々の出願戦略を確立させていきましょう。
