Applicants with Foreign Education Credentials
Prospective students who received their legal education outside of the United States must apply by December 15 for Fall 2017 entry.
Applicants must submit their application and materials by the appropriate deadline. It is strongly recommended (though not a requirement) that mailed application materials be received at LSAC two weeks before the application deadline. No guarantees can be made concerning applications submitted, or application materials received by LSAC, after the respective deadline; such applications may be returned unprocessed.
The Committee requires that applicants who take the TOEFL achieve a minimum total score of at least 100, a minimum score of 26 on the reading and listening subsections, and a minimum score of 22 on the writing and speaking subsections. For applicants who take the IELTS, the Committee requires a minimum overall band score of at least 7, a minimum score of 7.5 on the reading and listening subsections, and a minimum score of 7 on the writing and speaking subsections. For both exams, JSD applicants must present scores subtantially higher than the minimum.
◆ Early Review Proｇram
All application materials, including supporting documents and TOEFL scores, must be submitted and fully processed and considered complete by Columbia by November 1, 2016. If your application is not complete by November 1, 2016 (including your full CAS report), we will automatically defer your application for consideration as part of the regular admission cycle.
We will provide a decision for early applicants by the end of December. Applicants will be admitted, rejected, or deferred to the regular admission cycle. If you are admitted through the Early Review Program, you will not be required to withdraw your applications to other LL.M. programs.
Regular Application Deadline
The Columbia online application through LSAC must be submitted by December 15, 2016 and all supporting documents for the CAS report must be postmarked to LSAC by December 15.
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis, in most cases no later than late April. Rolling admissions means that we evaluate applications randomly; the date you submitted your application often has no bearing on when you will receive a decision. Some candidates will have a decision in early January, others in late April. If you have not yet received a decision, it most likely means that the Committee simply has not yet reviewed your application (so you should not worry!). We strive to give every candidate an answer by the end of April.
The 2016-2017 application deadlines are as follows:
Round 1 – October 3, 2016
Round 2 – January 20, 2017
Round 3 – March 3, 2017
The Law Tech program is an integral part of the new academic model at Cornell Tech, where education and research are closely tied to creating and expanding companies and industries. As a student, you’ll have unique collaboration opportunities on campus, as well as with New York-based companies in the tech industry.
For foreign-trained students, the Tech LLM will not by itself qualify graduates to sit for the New York State bar examination; but, by undertaking a semester of additional coursework at Cornell’s Ithaca campus, foreign-trained students who desire to do so can satisfy the requirements to sit for the bar.
Who should apply?
Ideal candidates for the LLM degree at Cornell Tech are already-practicing attorneys or recent law graduates who possess strong academic or professional credentials, as well as an active interest in technology and entrepreneurship.

University of Chicago, LL.M. Programの出願締め切り日です。
December 15—Priority application submission deadline. On or before this date candidates should have submitted their Basic Information Form electronically to the Law School and the following items to the LSAC LLMCAS: application for admission, personal statement, and resume. Candidates may apply after December 15. They do not need to ask permission to do this. They should understand, however, that they assume the risk that most admission decisions will have been made by the time their applications have been completed and reviewed by the Graduate Studies Committee. Candidates who do apply after December 15 should include with their personal statements an explanation about why they did not apply before the deadline.
January 15—Priority application completion deadline. Although most applicants will have completed their applications (application for admission, personal statement, resume, transcripts, TOEFL/IELTS scores, and letters of recommendation) by the December 15 deadline, candidates whose applications are completed between December 15 and January 15 will receive full application review before decisions are sent out on February 15. Applications completed after January 15 will be reviewed once they are complete, but those candidates should understand that, as a practical matter, the later we review a completed application, the less likely we are to be able to offer admission. This timing varies from year to year, and it is impossible to predict ahead of time when we will have to stop offering admission to candidates.
